Mr. Numrych also represents insurance carriers through insurance defense agreements, as well as their insureds, Fortune 500 Companies, and self-insured clients. The depth of his legal experience with insurance includes favorable decisions in cases with million dollars exposure, in medical malpractice, contract disputes, toxic torts with superfund cleanup litigation, defending wrongful death cases, and general negligence claims involving transportation vehicles (auto, trucks, cranes, aviation planes, maritime boats). He has defended workers’ compensation cases for large Fortune 500 companies in these jurisdictions. He has represented product manufacturers in product liability cases involving airplanes, helicopters, and commercial industrial machinery (elevators and chillers). He has decades of experience representing professionals and health care providers in malpractice cases and presenting complex science through expert testimony to a jury. He has represented professionals in construction and design litigation. He is “certified” by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) as a “Master Advocate,” and “Faculty Member” and teaches trial advocacy for longer than a decade. The American Inns of Court has designed Mr. Numrych as one of the “Masters of the Bench” in workers’ compensation.
He is member of the bar associations of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, and of their respective defense bar organization: DC Defense Lawyers Association (DCDLA), Maryland Defense Counsel Inc. (MDC), and Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA). From years 2012 to the present, Mr. Numrych has been selected by AM Best’s Insurance Ratings services as “AM Best’s Client Recommended Counsel.” He is rated “Excellent” by AVVO. He was selected by the Defense Research Institute (DRI) to receive the District of Columbia State Leadership Award. As a decorated veteran during Operation Desert Storm, Mr. Numrych was honored with two Commendation Medals, a Meritorious Service Medal, and a National Service Defense Medal for his military service. In the Air Force he investigated aircraft accidents, served as a Medical-Legal Consultant, and served as both trial counsel as the Chief Prosecutor, and as an Area Defense Counsel for the Military District of Washington, DC. He maintains a collegial relationship with attorneys throughout the region.
In his spare time, he enjoys time with his wife, Rebecca, and their rescue dog, Bella. He also enjoys competitively racing large sailboats with the Daingerfield Island Sailing Club (DISC) and Sailing Club of Washington. (SCOW)
